If you want to progress in the business workplace the Level 4 Diploma in Business and Professional Administration is exactly what you're looking for! This course equips learners with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to undertake business and administration roles in a range of business settings. Typically learners will be working in roles such as office managers, administration team leaders, personal assistants or business development executives. The qualification is aimed at those who already have experience of office based skills and wish to specialise in business and administration functions, ideally in a supervisory role.
It takes 12 months to complete this course on a part time basis including attendance at monthly study groups at a local training centre where you will be given assignments to complete and also undergo workplace observations. If you receive Government funding for the course - check our funding finder to see if you're eligible - you'll also study functional skills in English, maths and ICT along with Employment Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.
An Apprentice needs to be in training for at least a year and a day, which equates to 1,560 hours – or 30 hours a week – of employment. It is expected that 20% of these hours are spent completing off the job training.

Work and assessment
You'll find all the resources for your course on our Online Training Academy where you'll also be able to submit your work and study for your functional skills. Assessment is by workplace observations, practical tasks at work, answering questions and assignment writing.
Apprenticeship learners need any Level 3 or above to take this course along with Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths. Learners funding their training through an Advanced Learning Loan should also hold any Level 3 or above and be at Entry 3 level in English only.
After completing the Level 4 Diploma learners could be ideally placed to progress on to a management course to develop supervisory skills. We offer management training at Levels 3 & 5.
